IPUCET Information

What is IPU CET?

IPU CET is the short form of the Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test. Interested aspirants who want to get admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University through the IPU CET will be given admission either through National Level Test or through the Common Entrance Tests (CET) that are conducted by the University. In other conditions admission might also depend on the merit of the eligible degrees. 

IPU CET General Information

The IPU CET (or Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test) is held by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). It is a National Level Exam and is held once a year. The mode of the examination is offline. The IPU CET goes on for 3 hours (it is 2:30 hours for BTech Biology) and the language is English. The purpose of the exam is to give students admission to GGSIPU and affiliated colleges. The exam is held in 9 cities in total. The helpdesk number is (011) 2530-2250. IPU CET Eligibility Criteria for BTech Admission

Interested applicants are required to meet the eligibility criteria for admission to BTech through IPU CET. Before filling up the application form, the applicants are advised to check the below eligibility criteria so that all of the requirements are met. If the interested candidates are blind (which includes color blindness), are deaf or dumb, in that case, these students will not be considered eligible for the BTech admission through IPU CET. Given below is the detailed IPU CET BTech admission criteria:

BTech Eligibility Criteria

  • Students should have cleared their 12th Board Examinations from a well-reputed and recognized affiliated school. The minimum passing percentage of marks should be 55% in Physics, Chemistry, as well as in Mathematics. Candidates should have passed in English as it is a core or elective or compulsory subject for qualifying for the examination.
  • Students should have already appeared for the JEE Main Paper 1 that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The admission process is be based on this scorecard or percentile.

BTech (Biotechnology) Eligibility Criteria

  • Students should have cleared their 12th Board Examinations from a well-reputed and recognized affiliated school. The minimum passing percentage of marks should be 55% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as well as in Biology or Biotechnology.
  • Students should have already appeared for the IPU CET and their names should be in the merit list.

Lateral Entry BTech (Diploma) Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should have cleared their three years diploma course in the relevant subject from a well-reputed university or college. They must obtain a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Candidates should have already appeared for the IPU CET and their names should be on the merit list.

Lateral Entry BTech (BSc)

  • Candidates should have cleared their BSc degree with Mathematics as one of the courses. They should obtain a minimum of 60% marks from any well-recognized university or College.
  • Candidates should have already appeared for the IPU CET and their names should be on the merit list.

IPU CET Information for BTech

The schedule for IPU CET BTech is given below-

The schedule begins with registering for the counseling. This is for those applicants who have filled the form and paid Rs 1200 as the fee. Next comes the document verification process. It is conducted by the University, especially for the reserved category of candidates who have successfully registered online. The next part of the schedule is Round 1 of the BTech filling up for seat allotment choice. Here, the aspirants will have to decide and choose their preferred course and college for admission.

IPU CET Admission Process

Below is the admission procedure for IPU CET.

  1. Filling up the IPU CET 2021 application form – This is the first step. The interested candidates are to fill up and submit the IPU CET application form. Along with the general personal details, candidates will have to enter the academic and their contact details in the application form. For the academic portion, interested aspirants will have to submit their scorecard of JEE Mains and other major details. Then a fee payment is to be made. The fee is to be paid in online mode and the candidates are to upload the necessary documents.
  2. The IPU CET merit list – This is the second step. The officials will arrive at a decision and will prepare a concrete merit list after going through individual JEE Main scores. The aspirants whose names will appear on the merit list will be considered eligible for participating in the counseling procedure and will have the benefit of gaining admission faster than others. 
  3. The IPU CET counseling stage – This is the final step. In this step, the concerned authorities will conduct a counseling process under the IPU CET. Students will be given admission based on the availability and preferences of seats along with the merit list. Interested applicants who get through these steps will be considered for admission and they will have to complete the procedure for admission within the given date range.
